LATIN WORDS AND PHRASES CAN BE USED WITHIN A MOSAIC TO HELP TEACH AND REMEMBER IN A FUN WAY.

What do we offer ?
We work closely with the Teachers involved to tailor the day to suit your Schools timing requirements.
We have worked in many many schools across England, and get repeat visits year after year from the same schools, as we offer something unique and different to get children excited about History and Art. A Day they will always remember and talk about for a long time after...
We have some options for you to choose from .
Option 1 : Make a Roman Style Mosaic simular in appearance to how the Romans would have made them. Day includes 45 minute assembly/Talk with props on the Romans, Mosaic making, Grouting.
Large groups divided into 2, Mosaic making in the morning, and grouting in the afternoon, Helmet trying on and questions and answers to finish the day.
Fee £350 for up to 60 Children add £5 per head over this number.plus travel at 50p per mile return from Peacehaven. 

Option 2 : Mosaics & Gladiator School . Educational, Physical, Lively and Fun !
A new way to learn about the Roman s and Gladiators. Day includes 45 minute Assembly/Talk with props on the Romans as in Option 1
In the afternoon after grouting we spend the last hour of school Learning how to fight like a Gladiator and die Dramatically ! 
No weapons involved. just vivid imaginations and an in depth look at how the Gladiator fighting evolved into Games and entertainment in Roman times. This will be followed,where the children can try on Helmets, Armour ect ..and ask Minerva and Markus any Questions about the Gladiators or any part of the Days activities.
There is no extra charge for this , it is the same fee as Option 1.

THE ROMAN DAY ITINARY (for Option 1)
The Day would involve us Arriving as Romans( Minerva & Marcus Annoyus Constantus) to hold an Assembly with the Children in the Morning, for approx 45 mins.
We speak about Mosaics and their History, as well as more of an insight to Romano British Life, and The Romans through the eyes of MARCUS , and the Goddess MINERVA ,describing day to day living, using props and Mosaic Examples .
Marcus the Slave becomes Marcus the Centurion as he demonstrates the Equipment, Clothing and Armour , a legionnaire would have worn.
We ask the Children questions and interact with them, Testing their knowledge of what they may know already. Rewarding them with Roman Coins, if they can get the Answers right !
After Assembly,
Children make a coaster size Mosaic 3.5 x 3.5 inches with matt ceramic tiles , the best quality in mosaic for a most authentic looking piece.
The Children design and make the Mosaic in the morning,using their own designs, based on initials, or a simple geometric Pattern, then In the afternoon , we grout them for a truly authentic Roman finish. There is usually time after the grouting for the children to try on the Helmets, handle the armour and ask more questions. Its a good photo opportunity too !
Childrens safety is important to us and we do not bring in real weapons to your school.
Normally a large group is divided into 2 for the mornings activities.

Another idea is a Roman Panel, where everything is set out the same except we collaborate the work together on a bigger board, this can be used as a panel to diplay in the school , or outside .
Extra fee cost is for the board only.
 
ROMAN COIN KITS
We also supply schools our Roman Coin Kits at a reduced rate, so Children can make an easy to follow pattern as a marble Mosaic, with a Replica Roman coin for the centre. It is supplied with less packaging to keep costs low, and an Instruction sheet for the teacher to read out and follow, as well as PVA adhesive, roman dust for the centre, or grout if preffered.

SCHOOL COMMISSIONS
If you are looking for a Mosaic to go outside your School our fee is around £200 per square foot,using ceramic wall tiles, if you wanted the more expensive glass tiles , we would quote you individually for that ,
