Minerva & Diana school visits
Since the devastating passing of Marcus, my husband, and Roman Slave/Gladiator/Soldier in February 2012, I have re invented the day we offer to schools.
The Roman Goddess Diana, goddess of nature, the moon and hunting (Artemis) will be attending with me, and offer the same amount of insight and education , art and drama to the day.
WE ARRANGE A VISIT TO YOUR SCHOOL AS PART OF KEY STAGES 1&2 A CROSS CURRICULAR DAY THAT GET S CHILDREN INTERACTING AND REMEMBERING THE ROMANS.
FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS WE CAN INCORPORATE DESIGN TEC, LATIN, ART,DRAMA & HISTORY AS A MOSAIC WORKSHOP DESIGNED FOR ALL SPECIFIC ABILITIES OF CHILDREN (SEN ) (G&T) MIXED ABILITY ECT ..

What do we offer ?
We work closely with the Teachers involved to tailor the day to suit your Schools timing requirements.
We have worked in many many schools across England, and get repeat visits year after year from the same schools, as we offer something unique and different to get children excited about History and Art. A Day they will always remember and talk about for a long time after...
This is what the day includes
Assembly with Minerva Roman Goddess of Wisdom & Diana Roman Goddess of Hunting 45 mins to an Hour.
We Use props and humour to help children learn about the Romans, and thier past, we give an insight to Mosaics and why they were used.
After assembly there is the Mosaic Making using coloured tesserae simular in appearance to the stones the Romans would have used.
Large groups are divided into 2, with an hour for Mosaic making, while the second group does a roman activity organised by the school.
After lunch is Grouting, hands on with the real thing !
After this we take the children into your hall, to hold GLADIATOR SCHOOL !
Its Educational, Physical, Lively and Fun ! This is where all those budding little actors get a chance to shine !
Learning how to fight like a Gladiator and die Dramatically !
Minerva & Diana have a live fight using wooden swords , and shields as a demonstration of gladiator training in the Roman Ludis, it gives an up close insight into how entertaining but serious they took the Gladiators back in those days.
Then the Children get involved !
No weapons used, just vivid imaginations and an in depth look at how the Gladiator fighting evolved from its origin at Funerals to honour the dead into the famous Games and entertainment in Roman times.
This will be followed,where the children can try on Helmets,and ask Minerva and Diana any Questions about the Gladiators or any part of the Days activities.
FEE £400 for up to 60 or under Children. Includes Mosaic making , preparation, travel time (not travel expenses) Tuition
For extra children over the 60 number we charge £5 per head.
