FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS WE CAN INCORPORATE DESIGN TEC, LATIN, ART,DRAMA & HISTORY AS A MOSAIC WORKSHOP DESIGNED FOR ALL SPECIFIC ABILITIES OF CHILDREN (SEN ) (G&T) MIXED ABILITY ECT ..
LATIN WORDS AND PHRASES CAN BE USED WITHIN A MOSAIC TO HELP TEACH AND REMEMBER IN A FUN WAY.

What do we offer ?
We work closely with the Teachers involved to tailor the day to suit your Schools requirements.
We have some options for you to choose from .
Option 1 : Make a Roman Style Mosaic simular in appearance to how the Romans would have made them. Day includes 45 minute assembly/Talk with props on the Romans, Mosaic making, Grouting.
Fee £300 for up to 60 Children. £5 per head over this number.plus travel at 50p per mile.
Option 2 : Mosaics & Gladiator School . Educational, Physical, Lively and Fun !
A new way to learn about the Roman s and Gladiators. Day includes 45 minute Assembly/Talk with props on the Romans and Gladiators. Make a Gladius (sword).
Make a mosaic in the morning, while half the group make a Gladius,
Learn how to fight with them like a Gladiator and die Dramatically ! Then we swap over.So everyone gets to experience both activities.
This will be followed by Grouting in the afternoon ,where afterwards the children can try on Helmets, Armour ect ..and ask Minerva and Markus Questions about the Romans and the day they ve had !
Assembly hall or Large classroom is needed for the Gladiator training for the Morning session only.
Fee £300 for up to 60 children plus an additional £2.50p per child to cover costs of swords which they get to keep. For over 60 children £6.50 per head. Plus travel at 50p per mile.

"The Mosaic Workshop was fantastic, Aimee Harman and Centurian Mark, brought out the Best in our year 7 students, who produced stunning individual Mosaic Panels.
These were then laid together outside in the school s memorial Garden. Both staff and students were really impressed with the finished result. I cant recommend them highly enough. They brought the Roman world into the classroom, and then took it outside again ! "
THE ROMAN DAY ITINARY (for Option 1)
The Day would involve us Arriving as Romans( Minerva & Markus Annoyus Constantus) to hold an Assembly with the Children in the Morning, for approx 45 mins.
We speak about Mosaics and their History, as well as more of an insight to Romano British Life, and The Romans through the eyes of MARKUS , and the Goddess MINERVA ,describing day to day living, using props and Mosaic Examples .
Markus the Slave becomes Markus the Centurion as he demonstrates the Equipment, Clothing and Armour , a legionnaire would have worn.
We ask the Children questions and interact with them, Testing their knowledge of what they may know already. Rewarding them with Roman Coins, if they can get the Answers right !
After Assembly,
Children make a coaster size Mosaic 3.5 x 3.5 inches with matt ceramic tiles , the best quality in mosaic for a most authentic looking piece.
The Children design and make the Mosaic in the morning,using their own designs, based on initials, or a simple geometric Pattern, then In the afternoon , we grout them for a truly authentic Roman finish. There is usually time after the grouting for the children to try on the Helmets, handle the armour and ask more questions. Its a good photo opportunity too !
Childrens safety is important to us and we do not bring in real weapons to your school.
Normally a large group is divided into 2 for the mornings activities.

Another idea is a Roman Panel, where everything is set out the same except we collaborate the work together on a bigger board, this can be used as a panel to diplay in the school , or outside .
Extra fee cost is for the board only.

If you are looking for a Mosaic to go outside your School our fee is around £200 per square foot,using ceramic wall tiles, if you wanted the more expensive glass tiles , we would quote you individually for that ,
